Features
*Shown with options and accessories
Tool-Free Adjustments
A simple pen is all you need to detach seatbelt and harness clips, making these features easy to use, secure against child tampering, and free from the need for tools.
Adjustments on the Go
Allows for on-the-spot adjustments while the user is seated, which is quicker and simplifies the process of making modifications. The seat depth can be adjusted safely and effortlessly while a child is in the chair, by simply pulling the handle located beneath the seat.
Footboard Features
The footplate's angle can be adjusted in 5° increments within a 20° range. The footboard supports weight-bearing through the legs and feet during functional sitting activities and accommodates sandals or ankle straps for specific positioning needs.
Tilt-in-Space Feature
The tilt-in-space function is easily engaged without tools, even while the user is seated. The hi/lo base tilts 15° forward and 25° backward.
Perfect for the MOVE™ Program
When paired with forearm supports, the Activity Chair transforms into a forward-leaning educational seating device, similar to those used in the MOVE™ program.
Remove the armrests and adjust the hi/lo chair to the optimal transfer height for secure and safe lateral transfers.
Flip the footboard up and tilt the chair forward to facilitate easy sit-to-stand transfers.
Lower the hi/lo chair until the footboard is flat on the floor. Since the footboard is sturdy enough for stand and pivot transfers, users can help with their own transfers.
Pads
Comfortable seat and backrest pads are crucial for offering cushioned support and preventing pressure sores. These pads consist of polyurethane foam and are encased in a cleanable, healthcare-grade, polyurethane-coated fabric. For extended durability, the seat pad is reversible, from front to back. The pads come in six different colors.

Preferred Choice for Feeding Clinics
Adaptable for Therapeutic
Feeding
The chair's tilt-in-space can be quickly adjusted during feeding sessions. Therapists might begin with the user upright for oral motor exercises and then tilt the chair back to lessen the need for trunk control, adjusting the headrest forward to maintain the head in a neutral position. These features combine to make it the ideal chair for feeding needs.
Versatile Support and
Comfort
Rifton's Activity Chair serves as a basic chair for users requiring minimal support, or it can be adapted to provide substantial support for more involved users. The hi/lo base allows for feeding in both quiet individual settings and at the family dinner table. The angles of the tilt-in-space and backrest recline can be precisely adjusted to match therapist recommendations, ensuring optimal positioning.
Durable and Easy to
Maintain
Designed to offer many years of service, each size of the Activity Chair has significant growth potential. It features an easy-to-clean design which is crucial for a feeding chair, and includes a tray that attaches and detaches with one hand for convenience.
Benefits of the Rifton Activity Chair
Enhanced Accessibility
The tilt-in-space feature of the Rifton Activity Chair enables users such as school-aged children to perform daily tasks, such as washing hands at a sink, with ease.
Convenience and Safety
Adjustments to the chair can be made without tools even while the user is seated, ensuring continuous comfort and security.
Customizable Seating Solutions
The chair offers a wide range of optional components to tailor the seating experience to individual needs, from early intervention to day habilitation, accommodating conditions like autism and cerebral palsy.
Versatile Base Options
Choose from two chair base options: a hi/lo base for effortless transfers and optimal positioning, or a standard base ideal for classroom settings, which supports self-stimulatory motion beneficial for students with autism.
Accessible Design Features
Each design choice, from the hi/lo base facilitating easy transfers to the standard base enhancing classroom engagement, is geared towards creating an adaptable and inclusive environment for all users.
